More Conspiracy Theory?
The point of these videos is don't just trust what people tell you about nutrition. Do the research yourself and find out the science behind how our bodies process food. Also do the research and you will find that the food industry does not care about what you eat or keeping you healthy. They want to sell you as much food as they can and produce it as cheaply as they can. 4 cents worth of corn will make a $4 box of cereal. If corn can be made into plastic cups do you think you should be eating corn? Ask yourself what can broccoli be made into? what about an orange or a steak?

You mean you don't buy steak cups? They give your beverage of choice that nice meaty flavor.
A side benefit of eating paleo that I just realized yesterday - you can be the smartest one in the room at lunchtime meetings because you don't go into a carb coma. I went to a presentation at work where they had pizza and beer. I watched everyone in the room throw back 3 pieces and a bottle each while I had my chicken, salad, banana, and almonds. And halfway into the presentation, I was the only one still alert - everyone else was struggling to stay awake.
This would have been very useful to know in grad school - I would eat a high carb, low fat lunch and then get a coke to try to get me through classes, meetings, and talks. I'd be buzzing for about ten minutes and then spend the rest of the time trying desperately to stay awake. I thought I was lazy, undermotivated, but I was just crashing from the carbs.
Has anyone else noticed this difference in alertness, in specific situations or in general?

Did "Helen" in the Avon Rec Center in BC. Ran on a treadmill, did pull-ups on a pull-up machine and had to use a 14lb medicine ball with a handle for the KB swings (and prayed the entire time that no one would get on any of the equipment I needed).
The ball felt so light I doubled the number. Looked at my watch for the time at the end, but I had a watch malfunction@#$! There was no time! Will have to do the workout over some time next week.
As for Amy's question above about alertness and eating, I can only say that I notice that when I stray from my new way of eating (Paleo eating), as I did yesterday and I eat something made of flour (like the French Knot I had after lunch), it makes me feel so sleepy and down right horrible. When will I learn not to say no to pastry ?
