The MBS Kettlebell Challenge is coming up on October 10th. If you have been hearing about how much fun these competitions are, now is your chance to get involved. There are divisions based on bell size so everyone can use a bell they are comfortable with. If you can snatch and clean and jerk go to the MBS CrossFit site and sign up.

All right, I'm going to have to get tough again. Comment!!! I know I can count on Regan to step up. Anyone else? I'll give you a topic - double unders: friend or foe?

Today's workout was actually fun. 12:30 with 12 kg and real double unders with my very own rope with my name on it. Get your own rope and you'll love double unders, I promise.

Wait, maybe it was 15:30. I can't remember. Something 30. I think 15:30.

Hey Amy here you go and it's not pretty!
WOD: 20:16 (16kg)
double unders=FOE!
Though I was get anywhere from 3-5 at times, othere than that a lot of 1's.
So I am improving, believe it or not.

Double unders = foe, I ran a lap for every 10 instead. This workout was miserable in all ways.

25:20 with 16KG KB snatch

Alright. Amy I haven't done the WOD yet but double unders and me are good ole buddies! In fact I think I might just do double unders the whole time on Saturday night when we are drinking!

hey there! double unders=fee fie FOE fum!

ok then. i feel better. i did tell rosanne though that i was going to blame at least a LITTLE bit of my difficulties on the rope, so thanks for the confirmation amy!

i didn't look at my time. it was pretty slow, though. comin' back from an injury is tough, man. my hands are raw (like when you first start CF) and my muscles are sore (like when you first start CF) and my double-unders sucked (like when you first start CF)...hmmm, notice a pattern here? Hoping to move to square two here shortly!! :)

The WOD yesterday was a tricky one, I am no fan of the DU's cant wait till Tim moves on to something else, although butterfly Pullups are no fun either. I do like running but the 5 laps at the end of the WOD yesterday wasnt nice. Double Unders, FOE, I still dont see what the point is. Better to jump rope IMHO.

Yay, lots of comments and discussion! Julie, glad you're back and it sucks that you got injured. Regan, I would love to see some drunken double unders tomorrow!

WOD yesterday was good, 9:44 with a 16 kg bell....I will be sure to bring my new rope to entertain everyone with some intoxicated double unders!

ya regan, ive been meaning to ask how doing the whole wod with that pink bell was. musta been pretty tough. i saw a 6 year old girl struggling to pick it up even once and considering you guys had arms of about the same size, i figured you would also struggle. ok. lets have a true test of manliness tomorrow night. we each pound 12 beers and then do 100 DU for time. Since you also share a drinking tolerance level with that of a 6 year old girl, im going to go ahead and put money on me. =)

Jeff have you seen Chucks kids in the gym? Pretty sure they could do that workout faster than you with a heavier bell! And as far as the drinking goes....I think you were talking about Sid having the tolerance of a 6 yr old girl.

Wow, Amy. You really started a firestorm here! Look at all these friendly comments.
As for the WOD, your DU's were so impressive!! You were lightening fast- what a difference from a month ago! I struggled with those DU's, but managed to get a few good runs. 15:20 or so with 16 kg.
Can't wait to hear of Sat. night's escapades...

Testimonials

  • Thank you for allowing me to train with you this summer. Being a football player at a Division 1 level I obviously want the best workout available to increase my performance. I have been doing conventional weightlifting for since I can remember and recently have not felt like it was increasing my performance as it should. Coming to Crossfit has been amazing. The high intensity workouts have made me more mentally tough, physically stronger, and able to endure more. Thank you for bringing me in, I believe in Crossfit all the way.

My daughter and I started Crossfit 1 month ago, I already feel an increased sense of strength. I've always been physically active, growing up as a competitive gymnast and lately an avid runner. Tim's ability to push me through the mental and physical boundaries of each and every Crossfit class is incredible. I have also been participating in the Kettlebell program and Tim has made it constantly challenging, exhausting and exhilarating all at the same time. I love the fact that he is always on the lookout for proper form and is quick to correct you if need be. He continues to push us to work hard, use good form, and never forgetting to tell us that we are doing a good job. Thanks for the motivation, support and the extremely challenging workouts.
